Muskan Sharing Smiles
Muskaan Sharing Smiles started with 5 children and today at 10 years we have 28 children under our roof experiencing care & support. It mainly caters to the underprivileged children who lack the opportunity to access basic necessity, from Subhash Nagar slums, Mahakali, Andheri East.
What we do
Spreading smiles among those children who need it most. We believe that a lot of children have a great deal of potential to rise in life which falls into an abyss remaining unexplored and unidentified…..We at Muskaan aim to change that
'SPARSH'
The children pertaining to the aid of Muskaan, are embraced under the care of
Muskaan’s day-care centre, the small house that composes SPARSH. This small
house is not just four walls but rather provides them with a homely environment. Here, nutrition, care and guidance are provided to the children giving them a happy and safe environment, staying true to our motto- spreading smiles.
'VIDHYARAMBH'
A formal education is deemed as highly indispensable – therefore we provide one to
the children under VIDHYARAMBH. Many of the children coming from the slums have a deep desire to gain formal education but due to various reasons are at a disadvantage. Under VIDHYARAMBH we take care of the primary, secondary and higher secondary schooling of the children coming from SPARSH opening doors to access the basic need of quality education as a stepping stone to lead a better life.
'ENTERPRISE'
The fundamental aim of Enterprise is to shape the youth into self-reliant individuals,
through counselling and assisting the educated lot in procuring decent jobs thus encouraging and assisting them to be independent individuals. This is the next step which we are looking to achieve for the children that they may make a better future for themselves.

Muskaan Sharing Smiles ( NGO ) initiated as an independent organisation on 16th
September 2004 under the leadership and vision of Late Vivian Rodrigues.
Why we are different
It mainly caters to the underprivileged children from Subhash Nagar slums, Mahakali, Andheri East. The child who started with us in the 1st Std has today completed the 10th Std.
Our Latest Work
After convincing the extended family of our support and after providing a lot of comfort, the children were brought back into the Muskaan family, thus putting a smile back on their face. There are many more of these episodes among our Muskaan family.
Our Skills
The slums at Andheri-East are the prime focus of “Muskaan” and thus, we decided
to provide quality education combined with good nourishment to children pertaining
to the Subhash Nagar area which approximately houses around 12,000
underprivileged families.

Director of Marlaw Design Pvt. Ltd, a turnkey project company that designs and executes commercial projects.
He left us in the year 2011 to continue his mission of spreading smiles.
Shishir Joshi is the Founder and Chief Executive of Project Mumbai, a not-for-profit.
In July 2020, the United Nations awarded Shishir Joshi-led Project Mumbai with the Social Development Goal (SDG) Solidarity Action Award 2020, in recognition of the humanitarian contribution to the fight against COVID 19.
Only fifty organizations have been bestowed with this honor globally, Project Mumbai being one of them.This is the fifteenth award for Shishir Joshi and Project Mumbai in the last three years–including the iVolunteer Hero of the Year award, the COVID Yoddha award by the Governor of Maharashtra, the COVID Warrior by the Municipal Commissioner, MCGM, the Best Startup of the year by Keto, the Green NGO of the Year by International Advertising Association and the Nutrition Award of the Year by Glenmark.
Santosh Menezes

Santosh Menezes is a Graduate in Commerce from Jai Hind College, Mumbai and Post graduation degree and two year mass communication professional course in Advertising and Public Relations and from Xavier’s Institute of Communications, Mumbai.
Started his professional carrier as an Executive with The Times of India Group of Publications and had spent over a decade at the Mumbai head office in the Response Marketing Division as Senior Manager. Joined Daily News and Analysis ( DNA) a media newspaper start up publication in the founding team and was for two years as Senior Chief Sales and Marketing Manager. Spent the next five years in leadership roles in the media and advertising industry in UAE, Dubai.
Associated with Muskaan Sharing Smiles as a part of the founding team and has been associated since its inception.
CA Walter D’Souza
Walter is the Managing Director of Walter Advisors Pvt. Ltd. (WAPL and Managing Partner of Walter & Associates (WNA). His role has been instrumental in the formation and growth of both the organisations since its inception.
He has used his intensive network and excellent rapport with banks, institutions, governmental and semi-governmental organisations to successfully plan and execute a diverse range of projects in India and overseas. Over the last four decades, he has advised corporates on business incubation, planning and funding besides hand-holding several organisations throughout their ventures including planning business exits.
An eminent speaker on subjects such as project finance, management consultancy and incentives, he shares his knowledge and experience at various seminars conducted by the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Bombay Chartered Accountants Society, The Chamber of Income Tax Consultants and lectures organised by the CA Study Circles across India. He also contributes to the WIRC referencer by way of article on financial parameters.
He is also a trustee in ‘Muskaan Sharing Smiles’, an NGO set up for the educational benefits of underprivileged children.

Anil Serrao
Anil Serrao is an Electrical engineer by profession. After completing his studies, joined L&T as a trainee and continued working there for some time before shifting to other organizations for the better. With the knowledge gained, he decided to do his own and now is a partner in Archaugust Architecture design and turnkey project undertaking entity. From his youth, he was involved in social causes and Muskaan Sharing Smiles gave him this opportunity.
Sumitha Salian

Sumitha Salian is an English literature graduate from K J Somiaya, also holds a Diploma in Journalism and Mass communication from the same institute. Started her career working as an account executive for an advertising firm called Neptune Advertising for 8 years. And then joined the marketing team at Bajaj insurance which she was a part of for another 3 years. Later on moved to tutor a handful of students becoming their private educator which is where she found her calling to help and educate children and then became a part of Muskaan Sharing Smiles as the Chief Executive Officer in 2006 which gave her this opportunity to help and educate under privileged kids which she is still a part of for the last 15 years and still counting.
